When it comes to workouts, I have tried and enjoyed numerous types. In middle school and high school, I played basketball and ran on the track team. And in the past few years, I have been part of beach volleyball and ultimate frisbee tournaments. As much as team sports are fun for the social aspect, individual sport activities seem to always be what I truly favor.
Last year, I enjoyed a mixture of running, running stairs, yoga and Bodyrock. Bodyrock workouts are intense whole-body workouts done at home (anywhere between 12 mins.- 1 hr) without much equipment (similar to bootcamps). Check out their website which I follow for tips, workouts, and recipes. http://www.bodyrock.tv/
To me, it's an impressive site because it has hundreds of free workout routines online, all explained in writing and through videos. Plus, fans post their scores and try to beat the trainers' times/scores. It's a great support system and the workouts vary each day and range in intensity level. Don't be intimidated, but just to warn you, the trainers are intensive, super fit, attractive and they look as though they've been Bodyrocking since they've been born! :) They are also very encouraging, informative about health and are easy to understand when explaining the exercises. You will be inspired by them and also by the professional and organized website. Check it out! I have posted many workouts from Bodyrock.tv on the 'Workouts' page.
However, since I received my 200 hrs. yoga teacher training certificate, I've been focusing on yoga, pilates and hiking. It's been a journey learning about the history, techniques and benefits of yoga, as well as improving my form and instruction. I hope to continue to improve my practice as I embark on this yoga adventure!
What is your favorite type of workout? Do you like variety in your fitness routine? Have you tried bootcamp-type workouts before? Have you been trained to teach a specific type of sport or fitness activity?
