To me, being fit means you are in good health because of regular exercise (along with a healthy diet). You are able to spend an hour each day doing intense physical activity, and are able to go about normal physical activities without feeling strained. You feel strong and toned and have average to low body fat content according to your body composition (height, age, sex, etc.),
