This year I'm teaching for the first time at an international school that uses the British curriculum while working alongside British teachers. Let me tell you, I've been quite confused and surprised at times. The 'period' in punctuation, for example, I've literally had to erase from my vocabulary and replace with the British version, 'full-stop' (otherwise my students think of the other period and get grossed out!). I was also told by my colleague that the students can eat at the 'canteen' when going on school trips. It took me a while to figure that one out.
